Children often share an incredible bond with their dogs. Dogs promote a healthier lifestyle to our Children, as they require exercising and what better way to get it than by taking your best friend for a walk? Dogs also assist Children to be responsible as dogs require feeding, clean fresh water, a nice place to sleep and grooming amongst many other things. Dogs are non-judgmental and provide friendship to Children because they don't care if you're having a bad hair day or if you don't have the best or latest and greatest mp3 player! Children may also experience the grief of a dog when the dog passes away, this can be vital for the Child to experience as it may well prepare them for the loss of a relative or friend later in life.

To encourage the dog and child relationship, Children are encouraged to attend class, Children are often the best trainers. However, for safety reasons, no child under 12 years will be permitted to be in control of a dog unless prior consent is given by the main trainer.

Children also need to understand they cannot rush up to dogs in class. They must ask for permission to pat any dog. Permission must be given by their parent/guardian, the dog owner and the dog. (We will explain this further in class). Again, due to safety reasons, Children must be as quiet as possible during a class, if they are disruptive during class, they may not be permitted to attend training again.
