Julie’s passion for dogs and learning led her to expand her knowledge and undertake over 18 months of intense study in dog behaviour. She gained her full qualification, a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services (dog behaviour) in early 2008 with the Delta Society of Australia. Julie began conducting group classes with experienced Delta trainers at the beginning of her study in 2006. Since then she has trained for the Animal Welfare League SA, Canine Interaction and Holdfast Dog Centre. Julie enjoys her work as a group trainer, but also loves the challenges and personal interaction with private in-home consultations.
Julie’s life goal is to reduce the huge number of dogs surrendered to shelters. It is a sad fact that many dogs, under 2 years of age are surrended to shelters in Australia because of behavioural problems that can be fixed; or could have been prevented through positive early socialisation and training. |
